Owners of carpets should think of washing them at this time every year. But what do statistics show – for or against carpets at home? And do their owners choose only summer to wash and refresh them? Technology is developing, and you can already wash your carpet at home and do that not once a year but every month. But still, if you are an owner of a carpet, what are the advantages according to you? What would you say to a person if you had to convince them to buy a carpet?

It is cosier. What is true is true. Carpets really do create an incredible domestic atmosphere. They bring much more warmth, cosiness and colour. The trick here is to consider the sizes of the room, its style and the other elements of furnishing correctly.

A rug. A rug covering the whole house is not quite often used today, but small rugs in fresh colours are a great accent. They are easy to clean up and keep. And usually, they are not large and heavy.

Where should we put a carpet and where not? It is good to think about why we want a carpet – to step on a soft surface, for our home to be colourful, warm in winter, etc. Generally, in the past, that used to be the main function of carpets – to warm people on cold winter days. Now, most people are quite pampered with central heating, air-conditioners and all kinds of heating systems, so carpets and their fundamental function are completely unnecessary. Of course, not to all people. Another relevant question is whether to place a carpet where we step most often or not to put one exactly there.

If we have small children or dogs – in most cases, carpets are a fitness appliances. You will probably say that that’s what vacuum cleaners are for. But not every vacuum cleaner can remove hair from carpets well, and you have to crawl on the floor with a brush and wet mop in your hands.

Different carpets for every room should be clear to all of us. For the attic, we should pick a small carpet which is easily cleaned up and has a colour on which dirt will not be so obvious.

As carpets are one of the longer-lasting investments, we should think twice before buying them and consider if they would match the room if we painted it in another colour next year, for example.…
